Rude to the waiter.

  1. I can vouch for this. We had some people we knew and went out with them a few times for lunch or dinner, and while they were always nice to everyone else, they were always rude to the waiters and gave meager tips (I discovered their meager tips the last two times we went out with them and I made an excuse both times to return to the table and add to theirs — after all, they wore head-coverings so people assumed we were Christians and I didn’t want the name of Christ disgraced). We ended up declining to go out with them, and as time went by and we learned more and more about their legalistic and cultic beliefs we discontinued associating with them.
